Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, an English student at Da Nang University, was crowned Miss Vietnam 2022 at the finals held in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of December 23.
Thanh Thuy, born in the center of Da Nang in 2003, is 1.75 meters tall and measures 80-63-94 cm.
She beat 35 other finalists from across the country to win the golden crown, studded with 54 white pearls and thousands of gold and white gemstones, plus 300 million Vietnamese dong ($12,700) in cash.
21-year-old Trinh Thuy Linh from Thanh Hoa province was the runner-up. It is said that she has a beautiful figure, with a height of 1.72 meters and measurements of 87-58-95.
Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang, 19, of Ho Chi Minh City was runner-up.
She is a student at Western Sydney University in Vietnam. In August, she entered the top 10 of Miss World Vietnam 2022.
In the grand finale, finalists competed in the Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), swimwear and evening gown categories.
This year, thousands of young women between the ages of 18 and 26 and taller than 1.65 meters took part in the preliminary rounds in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The judging panel selected 56 non-plastic candidates for the semi-finals in Hanoi in October.
Contestants competed in apparel, swimwear, eveningwear and two other categories, highlighting their talents and philanthropy.
Miss Vietnam began in 1988 and is held every two years. The competition encourages young women to showcase their talents in career, charity and social activities.
